For almost two decades, I’ve dedicated my life to working with children with special needs. At the same time, I’ve been blessed to serve in children’s ministry for over 15 years. Throughout my journey, I’ve always wanted to merge my two greatest passions—my love for God and my commitment to supporting children with special needs.

As a former teacher and autism center owner, I took the skills I learned in both education and behavioral therapy to create this curriculum.

But what really sparked 3i? Last year, I was appointed the Children’s Ministry Director at my church. I was excited—but also a little nervous—because I knew that one of my first priorities was to find a children’s ministry curriculum. I wanted something that taught the foundational truths of Christianity while simultaneously cultivating a personal relationship with God.

However, as I explored different curriculums, I couldn't quite find what I was looking for. That’s when I decided—why not create it?

As a former teacher, I know that true learning happens when we take the time to dive deep into a topic. That’s why each 3i unit is designed to explore a single subject thoroughly, ensuring that children don’t just memorize facts but can internalize and apply them in their daily lives.

I also wanted to provide instructional material. That's why I made sure to include worksheets, hands-on activities, and easy-to-follow lesson guides—everything volunteers need to feel confident and prepared.

And lastly, I wanted to close the gap when it came to special needs inclusion. While there are some resources out there, very few curriculums provide guidance for volunteers on how to reach and teach children with autism and other developmental differences.

Let me be clear—3i is not a special needs curriculum. It is a children’s ministry curriculum that includes adaptive lessons, ensuring that children with autism and other learning differences can participate and learn the same biblical truths as their peers.

This isn’t just about teaching—it’s about transforming ministries, making it possible for every child to participate, learn, and develop spiritually.
