UNIT DESCRIPTION
God's Love
In this unit, children will explore how deeply God loves them and everyone around them. Through engaging lessons and activities, they will discover that God’s love is unconditional, shown through His creation, revealed in the Bible, and intended to be shared with others.
Lesson 1: God’s Unconditional Love
In this lesson, children will explore the amazing truth that God’s love for them never changes, no matter what they say or do. They'll understand that even when they make mistakes or feel unlovable, God's love remains strong and constant. Through engaging stories and examples, children will learn how God's unconditional love provides comfort, forgiveness, and acceptance. They'll discover that His love isn't something they have to earn—it’s a gift freely given because they're His children.
Lesson 2: God’s Love Through Creation
This lesson helps children see how God shows His great love through the beauty and wonder of creation. They'll understand that God intentionally created everything—from the smallest insect to the brightest star—to reveal His care and love. Activities and stories will encourage them to recognize and appreciate God’s love expressed in nature, animals, and people. By noticing the love woven into creation, children will learn to appreciate and care for the world around them.
Lesson 3: God’s Love in the Bible
In this lesson, children will discover how God's Word, the Bible, is filled with examples of His deep and everlasting love. They'll explore stories, promises, and verses that help them see clearly how God's love is always present and available to them. Children will learn that the Bible is a special gift from God, guiding them through life's ups and downs and reminding them of His love every day.
Lesson 4: God’s Love For Others
Children will learn that God's love isn't only for us—it’s for everyone. They'll understand how God wants them to actively share His love by treating others with kindness, compassion, and forgiveness, even when it's difficult. By looking at Jesus’ example, they’ll discuss how to handle tough situations and difficult relationships lovingly. They will be encouraged to put what they've learned into practice by showing kindness and compassion to others in their everyday lives.
The Bible
In this interactive and foundational unit, children will explore how the Bible is not just one book, but a collection of many God-inspired books that tell one big story—God’s story. They’ll learn that the Bible is God’s Word, discover how it's organized, and see how it helps guide their lives and reminds them of God’s unchanging promises. Each lesson builds biblical understanding and helps children develop a lifelong love for Scripture.
Lesson 1: The Bible as God’s Word
In this lesson, children will learn that the Bible is God’s true Word, given to us to teach, guide, and help us grow in faith. They’ll discover that every word in the Bible comes from God and is important for our lives today. Through stories and hands-on activities, they’ll begin to treasure the Bible as a gift from God.
Lesson 2: The Books of the Bible
Children will learn that the Bible is made up of 66 different books, written by many different people over hundreds of years, yet all inspired by God. They’ll explore how the Bible is organized into different categories—like stories, songs, letters, and prophecies—and how each part works together to help us know God better. This lesson builds confidence in navigating Scripture and deepens appreciation for its structure and purpose.
Lesson 3: The Bible as a Guide
This lesson focuses on how the Bible helps us know the right way to live, like a light shining on our path. Children will see that God’s Word teaches us how to make good choices, be kind, and stay close to Him even when life is confusing. They'll be encouraged to turn to the Bible when they need help or direction.
Lesson 4: The Bible’s Promises
In this lesson, children will discover that the Bible is full of promises from God that we can count on. They’ll explore how God always keeps His word and how His promises give us hope, comfort, and strength. Through interactive activities and discussion, they’ll learn to trust in God's faithfulness every day.
Obedience To God
Obedience is an important part of following God. In this unit, children will learn why obedience matters, what happens when we disobey, and how Jesus is the perfect example of obedience. Through Bible stories, interactive activities, and practical applications, children will discover how obeying God leads to blessings and a closer relationship with Him.
Lesson 1: What is Obedience?
Children will learn the meaning of obedience and why it is important to listen and follow instructions. The lesson introduces how obedience shows love and trust in God.
Lesson 2: Why Do We Need to Obey God?
This lesson teaches that God’s instructions are given for our good. Children will explore examples from the Bible that show how obeying God leads to blessings and protection.
Lesson 3: What Happens When We Disobey?
Through the story of Jonah and other examples, children will learn about the consequences of disobedience and how God lovingly corrects us to bring us back to Him.
Lesson 4: Jesus as Our Example of Obedience
Jesus obeyed God perfectly, even when it was difficult. This lesson teaches children how Jesus’ obedience led to salvation and encourages them to follow His example in their daily lives.
